IYSA – Josh Rural Football Programme

Supporting football for children and coaches in villages and small towns in India

IYSA helps and support coaches transform village children’s habits, values and sporting ambitions.

Girls and boys have the drive and motivation to play; what they lack are the basic and relevant resources. We support them with playing kit, footballs and training equipment so that they can practice regularly and have a passion for football.

From staying home or loitering around they get encouraged to come and learn a sport properly. Through football they pick up values such as respecting the opponent, teamwork, leadership, fair play and sportsmanship, etc. Get fit, which gives them focus and motivation. Become an example to their friends, be responsible at home and disciplined in school.

How we work

We visit the Village or Town and see the field, meet the coach, check the number of children, equipment available, the seriousness and the need. We would make multiple trips to most villages.

How we support

We focus on improving the basic requirements to improve the quality of their training:

  • Playing Kit (Jersey, Shorts, Stockings)
  • Footballs
  • Training Equipment – cones, bibs, etc
  • Mini Goalposts
  • Coaching guidance and Coach financial assistance

Transformation – A village Academy before & after

Making boys and girls feel like sports persons and giving kit and equipment to play and practise is the first step. Above image before our support and later with new kit and footballs
