Hurricanes block the Suns in 10-goal THRILLER.

25 November 2001 (Round 3)

It was the last match of the day. The Red Hot Suns were leading the 10 Huricanes 5-2 with the last quarter to go.Hurricane struck. Nikhil Ledlie, in his first match for them, hit three goals pulling it back to five all in the most thrilling game of the season.


The Suns versus the 10 Hurricanes in a 5-5 thriller.

Ledlie got four out of the five while Uday Vir Singh got the other goal. The Suns were equally brilliant, and as Bill Adams of the IYSA said, “they ran their socks off”. Sahib Singh got two and Gautam Anand, Zorawer Singh and Raghav Bhasin got a goal each.

It had been a day of one-sided matches. Starting with the Mighty Atoms convincingly beating the Little Ninjas 6- 1. Aditya Kapur hit 4 goals and Sagar Agarwal and Pratap Atwal a goal each. For the Ninjas, Prithvi Dev got their only goal.

Then, the Lightning Strikers played the Super Cubs. Palash Joshi’s hat trick and a Karan Dev Burman goal for the Strikers gave them an easy 4-0 victory.
The Happy Hawks were also in top form. They cruised to a 4-1 victory over Team Tigers. Imaad Lalljee scored a hat trick and another shot deflected of a defender for an own goal.

For the Tigers, Sanjan Sabherwal’s goal keeps him top of the scoring charts.
