Suns shine in Round 2

18 November 2001 (Round 2)

The big winners of last week, Team Tigers were overshadowed by a super show by the Red Hot Suns. Sahib Singh (1), Raghav Bhasin (2) and Gautam Anand with a hat trick gave the Suns a 6-1 victory. Sanjan Sabherwal, last weeks top scorer got one back but could not stop a great team performance from the Suns.

The Lightning Strikers had another early morning kickoff but they went down to Mighty Atoms 1-2.

Palash Joshi showed great energy with his performance and scored for the strikers, but it was two strikes from the Mighty Atoms striker, Aditya Kapur that ended their hopes.

The Super Cubs got their first taste of victory, a 2-1 win against the Happy Hawks. Shaunak Kumar scored both goals for the Cubs while Imaad Lalljee scored for the Hawks.

For the 10 Hurricanes it wasn’t as bad as last week. Though they lost, they kept the Ninjas down to five, and scored a couple themselves. Varun Rajgarhia and Shivraj Bhasin got the goals for the Hurricanes. Prithvi Dev and Ishaan Kumar got a goal each for the Ninjas but a hat trick from Sidharth Khanna was the difference between the teams.
